STUDIO 74 – THE JAPAN FOUNDATION TOURING FILM PROGRAMME – ZIPANGU SHORTS

We were grateful to be given tickets by Phoenix Digital to the STUDIO 74 Cinema to watch

THE JAPAN FOUNDATION TOURING FILM PROGRAMME – ZIPANGU SHORTS

From the fantastically weird to the beautifully bizarre journey to Japan through this eclectic collection of Japanese short films. In collaboration with Tokyo’s Short Shorts Film Festival & Asia, an Academy Awards accredited festival, this one-off screening selects the best new filmmaking talent from Japan. Unconventional, surprising and bursting with energy these stories are a breath of fresh air.

Haru Urara was my favourite, as it had animation and live action footage. I also found Two Juliet’s of Verona and Between the lines very funny.-Murdo

It was great going to the cinema, I really enjoyed all the films and found them interesting and very, very funny.- Iratze

the cinema was a lot of fun, the horse one was good because I thought it was soooo funny! – millie

I liked the horse one because it was a happy and uplifting story although I did expect the horse to win one of the races.

-Nathan

Haru Urara and Dads wedding were my favourites because they had a good story line, were easy to follow and a good length.

-Reuben

Inspired by the Japanese films we finished the session by having a go at Origami, we need some more practice with this….
